intimate maternity session on the river | corpus christi photographer
This was my second time working with Lillian and capturing her third pregnancy in a natural and intimate way! When we had planned for her family session earlier in the year, she had just found out about her pregnancy, showing off her little baby bump with her loved ones. But this session was all about her as a mother and her incredible journey as she carried her newest baby girl!
We originally planned to shoot her session at sunrise, but as I made my way to San Antonio, we experienced freezing weather with extreme wind conditions! We quickly bumped that to sunset and the weather could not have been anymore perfect. The warm sun shined bright though the changing forest on Cibolo Creek! The water was lower and much colder than the last time we were there, but Lillian braved through it all to be one with nature. As she waded through the cool water, she felt the rays fall against her skin, and her baby kick!
As the sun set, we made our way to the grassy meadow near the creek! We found a secluded area for her nude portraits. Natural motherhood is something I'm so passionate about! We all love pretty dresses and feeling them flow in the wind, but there's something so gorgeous about a momma baring it all and embracing her natural form! I hope no matter how we take my mothers' photos, they feel like the incredible woman that they are. It was an amazing day, feeling the grass in my hands and beneath Lillian's feet, the warmth from the setting sun, and the moments embracing womanhood...embracing motherhood.
