storytelling summer family session on the gorge | portland photographer
This summer I took my boys to Oregon for some family + couple sessions and to second-shoot a Washington wedding! I met with Becky and her tribe at the Viento State Park on the Columbia River Gorge. It was such a gorgeous little spot hidden away from the highway with a rocky beach, overgrown blackberry bushes, and tall trees. The view was so spectacular and it was the first time I was able to experience the gorge on the water side!
Becky and her family were so sweet with one another, cuddling close and tagging along with their adventurous little girl. I could tell right away she was a water baby, showing no fear for the river and the small crashing waves. She threw rocks with her dad as Becky snuggled close with her little guy! We spent some time asking in the warm sun before it started to disappear on the other side of the riverbank. We ended our time together, watching the trains pass by, blowing their whistles! I loved every minute together with this beautiful family and I'm glad Becky recommended this spot for her session. This was about a week before the fires on the gorge and even though you can't see them, my guys were running all over building rock towers, playing in the water, and enjoying the amazing view!
